No Dental Insurance? What a Dental Savings Plan Covers in Riverside — and What It Costs
About a third of the patients who call us don’t have dental insurance. Most of them start the conversation the same way: a little apologetic, as if not having a plan through work is something to explain. It isn’t. It just means the usual way of paying for checkups doesn’t fit your situation — so we built one that does.
What a dental savings plan is (and isn’t)
A dental savings plan is a direct membership with our office. You pay one flat annual fee, and your preventive care for the year is covered: two exams, two cleanings, routine X-rays, and an emergency exam if you need one. On top of that, members get 15% off select procedures.
It is not insurance, and that’s mostly good news. There’s no deductible to meet before anything counts. No yearly maximum that runs out in October. No claim forms, no pre-authorizations, and no waiting period — your benefits start the day you join.
What it costs
Three plans, three flat numbers. The Adult Plan is $449 a year (ages 18+) and also includes $350 off Invisalign treatment. The Child Plan is $349 a year (ages 17 and under) and adds fluoride treatment. The Perio Maintenance Plan is $549 a year, for patients who need periodontal maintenance visits instead of standard cleanings.
For comparison: paying out of pocket for two exams, two cleanings, and a set of X-rays typically costs more than the plan fee by itself — before any of the member savings on treatment.
Who this makes sense for
The plan fits people whose work doesn’t offer dental coverage, self-employed folks and small-business owners, families doing the math on three or four kids’ checkups, and anyone between jobs who doesn’t want to skip a year of care. If you’re on Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal or Medicare, the plan can’t be used for services those programs cover — call us and we’ll help you sort out what applies to you.
One honest caveat: if you already have dental insurance you like, the plan can’t be combined with it. It’s built for people who don’t have coverage, not as a replacement for coverage that’s working.
How joining works
You can enroll online in about two minutes — you’ll see the full terms before anything is charged — or just ask at the front desk at your next visit. Plans renew annually, and you can cancel renewal any time with a phone call.
We’ve been taking care of Riverside families from the same office since 2004. If it’s been a while since your last cleaning because coverage was the obstacle, this was designed for exactly that. Take a look at our Dental Savings Plan page under Memberships, or call us at (951) 789-9905 and we’ll walk you through it.
The Orangecrest Dental Savings Plan is a membership savings plan, not dental insurance. Savings apply to select procedures; exclusions apply — full details in the member agreement.
